Two-color co-extrusion is a kind of extrusion processing method of plastic profiles, which means that two different colors of materials (materials can be different) are transported to extrusion equipment through different flow channels, and the processed one has two different colors’ product.
The two input materials must have similar or the same properties, otherwise the combination will not be tight due to poor affinity. The two-color co-extrusion process is currently mainly used for processing plastic-steel profiles. Two-color co-extrusion steel profiles can be divided into homogeneous and non-homogeneous co-extrusion. At present, the main application is non-homogeneous co-extrusion, which is subdivided into PVC-ASA and PVC-PMMA. Among them, PVC-ASA technology is the most mature and has the best effect. It can also be used in the production of PE pipes.
Two-color co-extrusion products have two different colors or materials, and have the common advantages of both materials. In architectural decoration, it can effectively save costs while meeting color and performance requirements.
